The Distance Between Getting What You Want and Receiving It

It's so far away from me.

I’m just bit more than a week after turning 60. It was a traumatic experience. No one else noticed my trauma. The trauma came with the knowledge that the odds are much, much higher that I will die within the next 20 years.
